    The Blowing of Soul into the Fetus in the Views of Imammiyah and Catholicism

    Abstract: 
    Using descriptive- comparative method, this article has analyzed the issue of the blowing of the soul into the fetus from the Imamiyyah and Catholic viewpoints and has concluded that, from the perspective of Catholicism, soul enters the fetus at the moment of conception. This view appeared from the 17th century onwards. Before the 17th century, Christian scholars distinguished between a developed embryo and an undeveloped one. They believed that the proper time for an embryo to be developed is when it is physically mature and ready to accept the soul. Imamiyyah scholars have regarded different stages for the growth and development of fetus. They believe that the soul is blown at the completion stage of the body's organs although they do not specify the exact time for it. Based on the hadiths of Ahl al-Bayt, soul emerges in fetus after the fourth month of pregnancy. This theory is also consistent with the results of scientific research.

    Abstract: 
    این نوشتار، مسئله‌ی ولوج روح در کالبد جنین را به روش توصیفی ـ مقایسه ای از دیدگاه امامیه و کاتولیک به تحلیل پرداخته و به این نتیجه رسیده است که کاتولیک نفخ روح را مقارن با لقاح می داند. این دیدگاه از قرن هفدهم به بعد ظهور یافت؛ چه اینکه در قرن های قبل از آن، عالمان مسیحی میان جنین شکل گرفته و جنین شکل نگرفته تمایز قائل بودند. آنان بر این باور بودند که جنین زمانی شکل گرفته است که از نظر جسمی و فیزیکی کامل شده و آماده‌ی تعلق روح و پذیرش باشد. عالمان امامیه برای رشد و تکامل جنین مراحل مختلفی را برشمرده اند و معتقدند که دمیده شدن روح در مرحله‌ی کامل شدن اعضا و جوارح است؛ ولی برای آن، وقت معینی را ذکر نمی کنند. طبق برداشت از احادیث مأثور از اهل بیت(ع)، نفخ روح در جنین پس از کامل شدن چهارماهگی اتفاق می افتد. این نظریه با نتایج تحقیقات علمی نیز مطابقت دارد.
