    Abstract:
This research examines the concept of “positive peace” based on Johan Galtung’s theory and analyzes its relation to the concept of “universal peace” in Bahā’ī teachings. Given the Bahā’ī claim to universal peace, we observe violations of this discourse in practice and even within their own statements. The main research question is how the peace-research indicators of Galtung can be used to assess the extent to which the Bahā’ī claim to peace is consistent. The research hypothesis is that despite the peace-oriented teachings of Bahā’ism, latent contradictions in the words and actions of Bahā’ī leaders intensify structural and cultural violence. The main objective is to explain the function of positive peace theory and cultural violence in interpreting the Bahā’ī approach to universal peace. The findings show that parts of the writings of Bahā’ī leaders are inconsistent with their claim to peace-seeking. Components such as group supremacy (cultural violence), discrimination in inheritance (structural violence), legitimization of violence, dehumanization of opponents, destruction of cultural heritage (symbolic violence), and discrimination against women are instances of this inconsistency. The research method is descriptive-analytical, and the data collection method is library-based.
