Ma‘rifat-i Adyān is a peer-reviewed quarterly journal devoted to scholarly research in the field of Religious Studies. The scope of the journal encompasses diverse domains of religious studies, including but not limited to the following areas:

History of Religions: Scholarly investigation into the nature, emergence, growth and development, transformations, and, at times, the decline of religions, along with the presentation of academic theories and analytical interpretations in these areas.

Historical Geography of Religions: Academic examination of the geographical distribution of religions throughout history and the processes of their expansion and contraction across different regions of the world.

Sources of Authority in Religions: Analytical study and critical examination of sacred texts, and of the sources from which each religion derives its doctrines, rituals, ethical systems, and religious practices.

Beliefs and Doctrines: Critical analysis and evaluation of the doctrinal teachings of religions in three principal domains:
– the study of ultimate reality or theology,
– cosmology (including, within it, anthropology),
– and eschatology (both individual and global). -
Rituals, Religious Law, and Ethics: Analytical inquiry and theoretical reflection on the foundations of religious rituals, the criteria underlying practical rulings, and the articulation of ethical systems, with particular emphasis on the aims of moral conduct and the criteria by which actions are deemed moral.

Comparative Studies: Comparative research across the five domains mentioned above, together with the presentation of analytical and theoretical perspectives in this field.
