Abstract:
This research is a comparative study of the views of Saint Augustine and Ibn al-Haytham on beauty. Augustine, the Christian thinker, viewed beauty from a mystical perspective, while Ibn al-Haytham, the Muslim scholar, had a scientific and empirical perspective. The aim of this study is to examine the components of beauty in the works of these two thinkers and compare the similarities and differences in their views using a library method. The findings show that despite the influence of both of them on ancient Greek philosophy and the existence of similarities in their aesthetic theories, the mystical outlook of Augustine and the scientific outlook of Ibn al-Haytham led to differences in their views on the components of beauty. This comparative study is important due to the prominent position of these two thinkers in the Islamic and Christian traditions of aesthetics, as well as the importance of Ibn al-Haytham's theories among Western thinkers.

Abstract:
این پژوهش به بررسی تطبیقی دیدگاههای سنت آگوستین و ابنهیثم در مورد زیبایی میپردازد. آگوستین متفکر مسیحی با رویکردی عرفانی به زیبایی نگریسته، درحالیکه ابنهیثم دانشمند مسلمان رویکردی علمی و تجربی داشته است. هدف این پژوهش بررسی مؤلفههای زیبایی در آثار این دو اندیشمند و مقایسۀ تشابهات و تفاوتهای دیدگاههای آنها با استفاده از روش کتابخانهای است. یافتهها نشان میدهد که با وجود تأثیرپذیری هر دو از فلسفۀ یونان باستان و وجود تشابهاتی در نظریات زیباییشناختیشان، نوع نگاه متفاوت عرفانی آگوستین و علمی ابنهیثم، منجر به اختلافاتی در دیدگاههایشان در مورد مؤلفههای زیبایی شده است. این مطالعۀ تطبیقی به دلیل جایگاه برجستۀ این دو اندیشمند در سنتهای زیباییشناسی اسلامی و مسیحی و همچنین اهمیت نظریات ابنهیثم در میان اندیشمندان غربی، حائز اهمیت است.
