Abstract:
One of the issues that has been considered in the Quranic verses and Islamic traditions about Jesus is the issue of his fate. The vast majority of Muslims relying on Quran verses and some Islamic traditions, believe that Jesus was not crucified Rather, he has ascended, although, some commentators are of the opinion that the Quranic verses do not explicitly indicate the above-mentioned concept. The existence of different perceptions and differences among commentators in the interpretation of the verses surrounding the death of Jesus doubles the necessity for Islamic tradition investigation of this issue. By investigation the documents and implication of the Islamic tradition, we find that the ascension of Jesus to the sky and his descent at the appointed time have been narrated a lot. Regardless of the content of the historical reality of the issue and the meaning of the Qur'anic verses, the descriptive-analytical study of the contents of the Islamic tradition in this context shows that it is not possible to reach a dogmatic belief about the end of the life of Jesus. Indeed as it has been said, believing in the alive of Maryam's child will be possible, assuming the proof of the epistemic value of the single news and of course the documentary validity of the news in this context.
