It also discusses the methodology of theology and how this relationship can be established with "modern science" and culture. Theology is a normative science and based on rationality, which needs interactions with all human and social sciences and even natural sciences. Using diverse methods of argumentation, it "justifies cognitively" the religious propositions. Making known the rational nature of theology as an independent and distinct science, this paper discusses its functions, its links with the culture of the society, its position and necessity in order to clarify what needs are met by theology, why it has flourished in the context of nearly all religions, as it is present in the context of all religious traditions now. این مقاله به اختصار به پرسش «رابطه‌ی ایمان و عقل» و «رابطه‌ی دین و فلسفه» پاسخ می دهد. بحث از روش شناسی الهیات و نیز چگونگی ارتباط این دانش با «علم مدرن» و نیز رابطه بین آن و فرهنگ از دیگر مباحث این مقاله است. الهیات دانشی هنجاری است که نیاز به تعامل با همه علوم انسانی ـ اجتماعی و حتی تجربی دارد. و مبتنی بر عقلانیت است. با بهره گیری از روش های متنوّع استدلال، به «توجیه معرفتی» گزاره های دینی می پردازد. این مقاله، ضمن شناساندن ماهیت عقلانی الهیات به منزله‌ی یک دانش متمایز و مستقل، به کارکردها و پیوندهای آن با فرهنگ جامعه و جایگاه و ضرورت آن پرداخته تا معلوم گردد که وجود این دانش پاسخگوی چه نیازی است و چرا تقریباً در بستر همه ادیان چنین دانشی رشد یافته است. امروز نیز در متن همه سنن دینی حضور دارد. https://marefateadyan.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefateadyan.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/2.pdf
