Although this death is sometimes interpreted as physical demise and the separation of the soul from the body, the reality is that this death occurs while a person is physically still alive; thus, a human is dead while alive. To resolve this issue, a viewpoint emerged proposing that a human consists of three dimensions: body, soul, and spirit, and the death Paul refers to is the death of the spirit, presenting a form of trichotomism. However, opposing this view, there exists a dichotomous perspective which considers a human as having only a body and a soul/spirit. This paper, by referring to the Bible and its interpretations, seeks to examine these two viewpoints. Ultimately, after evaluating the arguments from both sides, we conclude that the trichotomous interpretation regarding the existential dimensions of humanity is not sufficiently justified from the perspective of the Bible, and Christian thinkers cannot rely on it to explain Paul's view. پولس رسول در یکی از دیدگاه‌های الهیاتی‌اش معتقد است که آدم ابوالبشر با عصیان خود و خوردن میوة ممنوعه، مرگ را برای خود و همة ابنای بشر به ‌ارمغان آورد. اگرچه گاه این مرگ به ‌معنای موت و انفکاک نفس از جسم تفسیر می‌شود، اما واقعیت این است که این مرگ در همان حالی که انسان از نظر جسمانی زنده است، رخ می‌دهد و آدمی درحالی‌که زنده است، مرده است. در باب حل این مسئله دیدگاهی مطرح شد که در آن انسان دارای سه ساحت جسم، نفس و روح است و مرگی که پولس در نظر گرفته، مرگ روح است و به‌نوعی سه‌گانه‌انگاری ارائه شد. البته در برابر این دیدگاه، نگرش دوگانه‌انگار نیز وجود دارد که آدمی را تنها دارای جسم و روح در نظر گرفته است. اکنون در این نوشتار، با مراجعه به کتاب مقدس و تفاسیر آن، در پی بررسی این دو دیدگاهیم و البته در نهایت با بررسی ادلة دو طرف به این نتیجه می‌رسیم که برداشت سه‌گانه‌انگار دربارة ساحت‌های وجودی انسان، از منظر کتاب مقدس چندان موجه نیست و اندیشمندان مسیحی نمی‌توانند برای تبیین دیدگاه پولس به آن تکیه کنند. https://marefateadyan.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefateadyan.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/5002153-1761734783.pdf
