This article, using a descriptive-analytical method and a comparative approach, examines the epistemology of suffering and its implications in Buddhism and Islam. The aim is to explain the sources, tools, criteria of truth, the object of the knowledge of suffering, and their epistemic consequences. The findings show that in Buddhism, the knowledge of suffering is based on personal experience, meditation, and intuition, with the goal of liberation from suffering through understanding its pervasiveness in existence. The criterion of truth is individual experience and ethical principles, with implications such as individualism and empiricism. In contrast, Islam draws on diverse sources such as innate disposition (fiṭrah), reason, revelation, and the senses. Suffering in Islam is not necessarily evil; rather, it is a divine test and an opportunity for growth and proximity to God. The criterion of truth, depending on the type of suffering, is direct knowledge (ʿilm ḥuḍūrī), reason, or revelation. This perspective entails theocentrism and rationality, rendering suffering meaningful within the framework of divine wisdom. Consequently, Buddhism, emphasizing experience, seeks to escape suffering; whereas Islam, with a theocentric view, regards suffering as a meaningful part of the path of spiritual development.}, keywords = {Epistemology of suffering, Buddhism, Islam, experience, revelation, reason, epistemological implications, }, title_fa = {معرفت‌شناسی رنج از منظر آیین بودا و اسلام و استلزامات آن}, abstract_fa ={«رنج» تجربه‌ای بنیادین است و معرفت‌شناسی آن در ادیان مختلف، نگرش به آن را شکل می‌دهد. مقاله حاضر با روش توصیفی ـ تحلیلی و رویکرد تطبیقی، معرفت‌شناسی رنج و استلزامات آن را در آیین بودا و اسلام بررسی می‌کند. هدف، تبیین منابع، ابزارها، معیار صدق، متعلق شناخت رنج و پیامدهای معرفتی آنهاست. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد در بودیسم، شناخت رنج بر تجربة شخصی، مراقبه و شهود استوار بوده و هدف، رهایی از آن از طریق فهم فراگیری‌اش در هستی است. معیار صدق آن، تجربة فردی و اصول اخلاقی با استلزاماتی چون فردگرایی و تجربه‌گرایی است. در مقابل، اسلام از منابع متنوعی نظیر فطرت، عقل، وحی و حس بهره می‌برد. رنج در اسلام لزوماً شر نیست؛ بلکه آزمون الهی و فرصتی برای رشد و تقرب به خداوند است. معیار صدق آن نیز بسته به نوع رنج، علم حضوری، عقل یا وحی است. این نگاه مستلزم خدامحوری و عقلانیت بوده و رنج را در چهارچوب حکمت الهی معنادار می‌سازد. در نتیجه، بودیسم با تأکید بر تجربه به‌دنبال گریز از رنج است؛ اما اسلام با نگاهی خدامحور، رنج را بخشی معنادار از مسیر تکامل معنوی می‌داند.}, keywords_fa = {معرفت‌شناسی رنج ,آیین بودا ,اسلام ,تجربه ,وحی ,عقل ,استلزامات معرفت‌شناختی ,}, url = {https://marefateadyan.nashriyat.ir/node/5001970}, eprint = {https://marefateadyan.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefateadyan.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/5001970-1788933225.pdf} }
