The question here is what separates the dialogue of religions from the peaceful interactions of religions in the past and gives it a distinct identity. To answer this question, this article analyzes the components of religious dialogue. The analysis of these components highlights three characteristics: the mastery of modern values, the promotion of another religious position, and a pragmatic approach. Pragmatism has transformed the dialogue of religions into a meta-theological matter which can be adapted to diverse and different theological foundations. Promoting another religious position is also a feature that separates the dialogue of religions from the history of peaceful interactions between religions. These two features and other modern values that guide the dialogue of religions are the same distinction that distinguishes the dialogue of religions and make it a way of reconstructing the interactions of religions in the modern world. در تاریخ روابط ادیان ابراهیمی، نمونه های فراوانی از تعاملات صلح آمیز و همراه با مسالمت جویی را می توان مشاهده کرد؛ اما بسیاری معتقدند گفت وگوی ادیان مسئله ای مدرن است و با نمونه هایی که در دنیای پیشامدرن اتفاق افتاده است، تفاوت بنیادین دارد. اینجا این پرسش مطرح می شود که چه چیزی گفت وگوی ادیان را از تعاملات صلح آمیزِ ادیان در گذشته جدا می کند و به آن هویتی متمایز می بخشد. مقاله‌ی حاضر برای پاسخ به این پرسش، به تحلیلِ مؤلفه های گفت وگوی ادیان پرداخته است. تحلیل این مؤلفه ها سه ویژگی را برجسته می سازد: تسلط ارزش های مدرن؛ ارتقای جایگاه دیگری دینی؛ و داشتن رویکرد عمل گرایانه. عمل گرایی، گفت وگوی ادیان را به امری فراالهیاتی بدل کرده است که می تواند با مبانی الهیاتیِ متنوع و متفاوت سازگار شود. ارتقای جایگاه دیگری دینی نیز خصوصیتی است که گفت وگوی ادیان را از تاریخچه‌ی تعامل های مسالمت آمیزِ ادیان جدا می کند. این دو ویژگی و دیگر ارزش های مدرنی که گفت وگوی ادیان را جهت دهی می کنند، همان وجه تمایزی اند که به گفت وگوی ادیان تشخص می بخشند و آن را به راهی برای بازسازی تعاملات ادیان در دنیای مدرن تبدیل می کنند. https://marefateadyan.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefateadyan.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/6_33.pdf
