Using the descriptive-analytical method, this research examines how Buddhism uses the capacity of suffering in explaining and describing anthropological aspects. In this article, different approaches of Buddhism in exploiting the capacity of suffering to explain and describe a wide range of human characteristics are proposed. In the following, anthropological requirements are mentioned and it is stated that what is the relationship between suffering and human nature and what is the relationship between the existence of suffering and human agency. The findings of the research show that Buddhism's exploitation of the capacity of suffering is an effective tool in explaining anthropology, and this religion believes that suffering is not only an inevitable part of life, but also an opportunity for transformation. In this direction, Buddhism separates suffering into two categories, natural and unnatural, voluntary and non-voluntary, and considers the result of enduring suffering to reach nirvana. مواجهه‌ی ادیان با مقوله‌ی رنج دارای جوانب مختلفی است که از منظرهای گوناگون به آن پرداخته شده است. در این پژوهش به شیوه‌ی توصیفی ـ تحلیلی به بررسی چگونگی استفاده‌ی آیین بودا از ظرفیت رنج در تبیین و تشریح جوانب انسان‌شناسانه می‌پردازد. در این مقاله رویکردهای مختلف آیین بودا در بهره‌برداری از ظرفیت رنج برای تبیین و توصیف دامنه‌های گسترده‌ای از ویژگی‌های انسانی مطرح می‌شود. همچنین در ادامه به استلزامات انسان‌شناختی اشاره می‌گردد و بیان می‌شود که نسبت رنج با طبیعت انسان چگونه است و وجود رنج چه نسبتی با اختیار انسان دارد. یافته‌های پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که بهره‌برداری آیین بودا از ظرفیت رنج، به‌مثابه‌ی یک ابزار مؤثر در تبیین انسان‌شناسی است و این آیین اعتقاد دارد که رنج نه‌تنها جزء حتمی زندگی، بلکه فرصتی برای تحول است. در این راستا، آیین بودا رنج را به دو دسته‌ی طبیعی و غیرطبیعی، و اختیاری و غیراختیاری تفکیک می‌کند و نتیجه‌ی تحمل رنج را رسیدن به نیروانه می‌داند. https://marefateadyan.nashriyat.ir/sites/marefateadyan.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/2022029-1723613295.pdf
